I want to bring in other disciplines as well, even if I’m not very good at them, because they’re interesting or somewhat related to programming. Thus was born my main quivers of articles.
Hey Daryl, it's ok. Canada's a big place...

And yeah, I like Plurk better than Twitter. Conversations are easier to follow.

This comment is late! Sorry I blame it on traveling ;)

Thanks for the link. I'm glad you've been enjoying Plurk! I occasionally get back on Twitter, but find it's not the same as it used to be..

Hi Philip, thank you for reading. I thought that arrow concept was good too. *smile*

And I hope I answered that question you're looking for... whatever that is.

And yes, I read your pondering of the matrix rotation question too. Actually, I read your post on the alliteration and try as I might, I couldn't follow the logic of the code. I used to be able to run through variable values in my mind... I must be getting old...

And I wanted to comment on that post. I hurried back home, did some preliminary code to do the alliteration my way, and was crestfallen when I saw that someone posted a one-liner solution. That solution was cool, if a little cryptic...

The Hamlet quote? Very deep... I will mull over that for some time to come...

Hi Vincent,

I've been reading you blog for a few months, I think your concept of firing arrows into the future for reference for you or others is good.

I know I found your site because I was looking for answers to a question!

I linked your site before, I think it was the Chen one... http://blog.figmentengine.com/2008/09/over-at-polymathprogrammer-there-is.html

As for the arrows, I quote some Hamlet:

"To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?"

Hey Christopher! *jumps for joy around for awhile* If I remember correctly, you gave an answer for an encryption puzzle I wrote, and maybe commented a couple of times too. Thanks very much.

From your name, I guessed you're probably a Chinese. I didn't know you're Singaporean too. *jumps some more* ... *collecting self with decorum*

I will think very hard on what you've said. Polymathy and narrow niche don't mix very well. I'm still trying to find a good balance.

Right now, I think math, programming and some curios for thought are my main focus. That might count as a niche thing.

Thanks again for stopping by.

It is nice to know a fellow Singaporean with a genuine passion for programming and math. I have to say first that I do not have a blog and hence do not have the appropriate experience. But I think having a slightly narrower focus on a specific topic might help to increase the visibility of your blog. This focus probably narrows down your variety of readers but you might gain a constant group of people to interact with in exchange. Might be a good idea to start off with math or programming problems you encounter in daily life?
